How AI4Love Connects to Existing Nonprofit Systems
AI4Love integrates with your existing platforms through secure OAuth connections and API keys — it does not replace any of your current systems. All integrations are read-only from your source systems. Data flows in one direction: from your platforms into AI4Love's analysis layer.

How Connections Work
Your organization initiates each connection. AI4Love never connects to any system without explicit staff authorization.

All other platforms follow similar patterns: OAuth 2.0 or API key authentication, read-only access scoped to the minimum data needed.
What Gets Connected
When you connect a platform, AI4Love reads engagement data:
- From donor CRMs: Constituent profiles, gift history, campaign associations
- From email platforms: Contact lists, campaign sends, open and click activity
- From event platforms: Event registrations, attendance records
- From volunteer platforms: Hours logged, roles, activity history
- From enrichment services: Postal-code-level demographic segments (not individual-level data)
All of this flows into a unified participation model in Airtable — a single activity stream that the AI agents analyze each night.
What AI4Love Never Does With Your Systems
- Never writes back to any source system
- Never modifies contacts, lists, campaigns, or records in your platforms
- Never accesses payment details, credit card numbers, or bank accounts
- Never connects without your explicit authorization
Credential Security
- OAuth tokens are stored in Nango (SOC 2 Type II certified), a dedicated credential vault. AI4Love servers never persist your tokens to disk.
- API keys are stored in Doppler (SOC 2 Type II certified), an encrypted secrets manager. Keys are never committed to code or logs.
- Revocation is immediate. Staff can disconnect any platform from the Integrations dashboard. The dashboard calls Nango's deletion endpoint, which destroys all stored tokens for that connection.
The Unified Participation Model
All supporter activity — donations, volunteer shifts, event attendance, communications — flows into a single Participation table in Airtable. This is the foundation of everything AI4Love analyzes.
Instead of looking at donors in one system, volunteers in another, and event attendees in a third, your team sees a complete picture of each supporter's relationship across every dimension.
The seven nightly AI agents analyze this unified stream to surface patterns that would be invisible when data is siloed across separate platforms.
Connection Health Monitoring
AI4Love monitors integration health continuously:
- Automatic token refresh: When OAuth tokens expire, Nango handles the refresh automatically
- Failure handling: If a sync fails, it pauses and reports the error. No partial writes occur.
- Health dashboard: Staff can see connection status for all integrations at a glance
- Disconnection alerts: If a connection drops, the team is notified

Common Questions
Do I need to change my existing systems? No. AI4Love connects to your platforms as they are. You do not need to modify your CRM, change your email platform, or restructure your data.
What if my organization uses a platform not on the list? AI4Love's integration framework is built on Nango, which supports hundreds of OAuth providers. New integrations can be added during implementation if your platform supports OAuth 2.0 or API key access.
Does connecting AI4Love slow down my other systems? No. AI4Love reads data through standard API calls at controlled rates. Syncs run at off-peak times and include exponential backoff if rate limits are approached.
Can I disconnect a platform after connecting it? Yes. Any connection can be revoked instantly from the Integrations dashboard. AI4Love retains no data from that platform after disconnection.
Do all my team members need accounts on each connected platform? No. AI4Love uses a service-level connection to each platform. Your team accesses insights through the AI4Love dashboard or their AI assistant — not through your source systems directly.
